Let me start by sharing my passion for helping others. While I admit it’s not always the healthiest habit to put others before myself, I find so much joy in making people smile. It genuinely lifts my spirits to know I’ve made someone’s day a little brighter, especially if they were feeling down.

I’m also a very creative person. I love doing art and writing music as a way to express what I’m feeling or sometimes what I can’t put into words. Music has become a powerful coping mechanism for me. It helps me through hard times and allows me to have fun while expressing myself.

In addition to music and visual art, I enjoy crocheting and tie-dyeing. I make hats, scarves, blankets, and even stuffed animals. One day, I hope to open my own tie-dye shop. It’s a dream rooted in both passion and creativity.

But more than anything, my future goal is to become a Special Education teacher. This goal comes from my personal experiences and the amazing support I’ve received throughout school. I had an I.E.P., and thanks to the dedicated teachers who supported me, I learned how to navigate the challenges. Because of that, I want to be the person who gives that same support to others—especially to kids who feel like they’re struggling.

I believe my experience gives me a special ability to connect with students who have I.E.P.s. I understand how it feels to be overwhelmed or unsure, and I want my students to know they’re not alone. I want to be the teacher who encourages them, guides them, and helps them believe in themselves.

By doing this, I believe I can make a meaningful difference in my students’ lives—helping them gain confidence, build their strengths, and realize how capable they truly are. Everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and reminded of how much potential they have.

Thank you for believing in me and supporting my journey.

Ever since I was little I always cared and had compassion for others. When I was a little girl, whenever me and my family would get home from school or an outing I would always help my sister take off her coat and shoes and help her get ready for bed. Growing up I lived in an apartment building so every once in a while we had fire alarms going off throughout the whole building. I remember times where in the middle of the night the fire alarm would go off and I would get out of my bed and go to my sister's bed and cover her ears just so that she wouldn't have to hear the fire alarms and so that it wouldn't wake her up. It was always in my nature to help and be there for someone.

As I started to get older and went into middle school and high school I joined the National Honor Society which allowed me to help out in my community and volunteer at different places around my city. Being able to volunteer at different places like Hearts for the Homeless and Ronald Mcdonald House showed me what a big impact it made to people by volunteering. And because of this I want to actively help people in need. Along with actively volunteering in high school in the summer of my junior year I was able to get an internship at the 8th Judicial Courts. I was able to work in supreme court, city court and family court. Working there showed me the harsh reality of what different people went through. As an intern I sat through many different court trails and saw many different things. Seeing court on tv was one thing but seeing it in person was another. There were many times in court where many victims didn’t get justice. And from that moment I knew I wanted to help people and help those who struggle to use their voice, had limited resources and those who struggled with getting help.

After high school I plan on getting my bachelor's degree in criminal justice while also actively getting involved with my community and helping advocate for those who can't for themselves. Going to school for criminal justice will help me gain more knowledge and understanding of the legal system. And from there I can use my knowledge to help those underrepresented and those in need within our justice system. Because I'm a very caring person, being in this career field will help me be able to connect with people which allows for trust, which will benefit me and the other person when helping them. Seeing in person what different challenges people have to go through made me realize I want to be the person who helps out. Because not everyone has the strength to ask for help or even try to help themselves and with my caring personality and knowledge with the legal system I know that I will be able to make a big impact on people lives and those around me.
